Transport to Utrecht
By bike
The easiest way to reach the city centre is by bike. Bicycles and mopeds can be safely stored indoors in one of the bicycle lock-ups.
By car
If you visit the city by car, we recommend parking at one of the Utrecht P+R locations, such as P+R Westraven near the Jaarbeurs exit next to the A12. From here, it is easy to transfer to the express tram, which will take you to the city centre in 10 minutes. With a combined ticket for one of the Utrecht P+R locations, you can park your car for an entire day and get on the tram with a maximum of five people for €4.00.
If you wish to park your car in the city centre, follow the signs to the centre from the ring road. They will lead you to the city roads to the car parks. Car parks are indicated in the vicinity of the centre. Parking a car in one of the streets of the city centre costs €4.18 per hour.
By train
The station area is undergoing a ‘facelift’ with the ultimate goal to combine the station and the old city centre. Inconvenience is limited as much as possible and Utrecht remains easily accessible.
Stop trains and intercity trains have one thing in common. In Utrecht all trains stop! No hassle with parking and within walking distance from the city centre. Amsterdam and Schiphol Airport are just 30 minutes by train; Rotterdam and The Hague at 45 minutes. Daily international trains from and to Brussels (2 hours), Cologne (2.5 hours) and Paris (3,5 hours). For more info, go to www.ns.nl or www.nshighspeed.nl.
